Life can feel overwhelming, especially when navigating identity, relationships, or systemic challenges. As someone who values understanding and compassion, Mike focuses his efforts on providing a safe, affirming space where you can explore your experiences and grow. His passion is to help clients gain self-understanding and acceptance through a culturally sensitive lens. In sessions, students can find themselves exploring values and identifying what makes life meaningful, often leaving with greater clarity about their internal compass, empowering them to create a life aligned with their true self.
When not working, Mike enjoys gardening, baking, playing disc golf, running half-marathons, and laying on the couch watching tv with his partner, dog, and two cats.
Podcasts I enjoy: Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff, Popular Cradle, My Momma Told Me and The Bitchuation Room.
Coping skills I recommend to clients that I actually use myself: Movement. Whether it is a walk with my dog or going on a run, there is never a time that movement doesn’t help me gain clarity. Communication. Asking myself if what I am communicating to myself is a Fact or a Feeling and meditating on that. This always helps remind me that, at times, the pain we feel can be rooted in systems that we may not have complete control over. Lastly, Choice. I like to remind myself that though I did not choose to be born, I do have the control to choose what I do next.
Music I am currently listening to: Manchester Orchestra, Saint Levant, Hozier, and Raveena.
