Staff Clinician

Dr. Calisha Brooks is a staff clinician at CAPS, where she brings compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to serving students of all backgrounds. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Tennessee State University and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centered approaches in her work. Her practice is also grounded in mindfulness and meditation to support holistic well-being.

Dr. Brooks is passionate about supporting identity work and has developed campus-based initiatives and programs that affirm and empower students. Her commitment to mental health advocacy extends beyond campus—she has contributed to national platforms such as MTV Mental Health Day.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Brooks enjoys traveling, community engagement, and spending meaningful time with her daughter. Known for her laughter and genuine connection with others, she believes healing happens through presence, empowerment, and joy.
