Nyla Morgan, she/her, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III) located at the UC CAPS CECH location. Nyla provides compassionate, individualized care to students who are seeking support for mental health challenges and various life stressors. Nyla offers a safe and empathetic space to work collaboratively with students to explore their concerns, identify patterns, and develop practical tools that promote long-term well-being.

Specializing in mood disorders, substance use disorders, and life adjustments, Nyla helps individuals regain balance during times of uncertainty. She employs evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address negative thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, and foster resilience. She is committed to meeting each student where they are, offering tools and insights to help them move toward positive, meaningful change.

Coping skills I recommend to clients that I actually use myself: Cleaning/organizing /decluttering living space, releasing energy and emotions through movement (walking, running, etc.), turning off the news/taking social media break, practicing good sleep hygiene.
