My UHP experience in five words
Passionate, Curious, Growing, Rewarding, Innovative
Why UHP is for me
UHP is a community where you have the freedom to do anything and everything. It opens you up to all kinds of opportunities, from study tours to research programs. Plus, receiving priority housing and scheduling are among the program's perks. More than that, UHP also allows you to surround yourself with the unrelenting support from your peers and advisors. It's a place where you can learn, grow, and figure things out together.

The honors experience that made the biggest impact on me
My favorite honors experience has been a study tour titled "Strange Tools: Artistic Inquiry & Embodied Cognitive Science". This class explored the role of philosophy, cognitive science, and art, and how they interact with one another in various fields of life. We travelled to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and spent the week observing how Strange Tools are integrated into people's everyday lives. I loved the class and how it pushed me to understand science from a more creative perspective.
If I could go back in time and give myself one piece of advice
Do it at your own pace! It may seem like everyone around you has already thrown themselves into a bunch of activities while you're falling behind, but rushing into too much too fast can end up doing more harm than good. Take your time to figure out what you truly want to do, and explore that route.
What I'm most looking forward to this year
I'm looking forward to stepping into my role as Developmental Director and being with our new cohort of ambassadors! I can't wait to continue my activities outside UHP while trying new experiences around UC.
