11th annual Hoxworth Blood Center Golf Outing fundraiser presented by Network for Hope
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, announces its 11th annual Golf Outing fundraiser, a charitable event raising vital funds to continue Hoxworth’s lifesaving mission in the Greater Cincinnati region. The golf outing is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Sept. 18 at Losantiville Country Club, located at 3097 Losantiville Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45213 — Pleasant Ridge. It’s not too late to sign up to be a golfer and make a lifesaving impact while having fun on this special day.
Participants are invited to experience a full day of golfing starting with registration at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Attendees will be treated to a Hoxworth swag bag, breakfast from Busken Bakery, lunch from Skyline Chili and dinner from Montgomery Inn PLUS the opportunity to win awards, raffle items from iconic brands and even a car from Jeff Wyler for one lucky hole-in-one winner.
Network for Hope is the proud title sponsor
Network for Hope may have a new name, but its unwavering mission remains the same: ending the wait for those whose lives depend on an organ transplant. For decades, this organization has been a lifeline for patients, serving nearly 7 million people across 136 counties in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia.
In the Cincinnati area, Network for Hope and Hoxworth Blood Center work hand-in-hand to give patients a second chance at life. Hoxworth’s role is critical in that they match donors with recipients in local hospitals, ensuring that every precious gift of life reaches the person who needs it most. In 2024 alone, Hoxworth’s Transplant Immunology Division helped make 642 transplants possible — 642 lives renewed, 642 families given hope.
“It’s a wonderful event for an even greater cause,” says Network for Hope CEO Barry Massa on our most recent podcast episode. “We’re proud to be the title sponsor, as we have a long-standing relationship with Hoxworth — including the privilege of having Dr. Alquist and Dr. Brailey serving on our board.”
Caroline Alquist, MD, Hoxworth Blood Center co-director, says Hoxworth Blood Center and Network for Hope are incredibly aligned to help save lives in the Greater Cincinnati region.
“The Transplant Immunology Division (TID) at Hoxworth does the immunology work behind the scenes to facilitate solid organ transplants, as well as bone marrow transplants,” says Alquist. “The reason we need a close pairing with amazing programs like Network for Hope is because they are the boots on the ground to talk and work with families about the final gift their loved one could provide in times of inability to recover.”
