Center for Community Engagement

The Cultural Center

The Cultural Center (60 W. Charlton Street) provides event space for a variety of student programs. This vibrant space features many historic items from UC’s art collection. The center also houses the teams that provide student leadership development programming, mentorship, alternative break programming, reservable meeting space, and community building opportunities for all students.  

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Visit Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) in Stratford Heights! Hang out in the FSL lounge and learn about getting engaged in one of the 39 chapters (affiliated with four councils) here at UC. 

Steger Student Life Center

Adjacent to UC MainStreet across from TUC and Nippert Stadium

In the heart of campus, you will find Steger Student Life Center – a hub of student activities, wellness resources, support services, and community spaces that support your success and help you build connections with other students and staff mentors.

  • The two-story Student Wellness Center (480, enter from MainStreet near the CRC) space offers free health products, games and activities, event space and quiet reflection space. Connect with our trained student peer educators for educational information and help finding resources.

  • The Bearcat’s Den (539, enter from MainStreet near TUC) offers ongoing activities, including small group workshops, and programs that promote wellness and community.  

  • The C.A.T.S. Lounge (7th floor) is a central gathering hub with a wide range of programming and activities that support you as you “Connect. Adjust. Thrive. and Succeed” at UC. This large, flexible space hosts student organization meetings, collaborative projects, informal gatherings, and social events that promote leadership, campus engagement, and community building.

  • UC's Commuter Student Lounge (645) in Steger Student Life Center includes various resources, including comfortable seating, television, tables, accessible charging outlets, games, whiteboard, sink, microwaves, and a printer. Throughout this semester, programs specifically for commuter students are offered in the lounge to give you the opportunity to get connected to profressional staff members and learn about the many resources available to you in Student Affairs.

Veteran's Lounge

Check out the Veterans Lounge, operated by Veterans Programs & Services. The lounge offers space for military and veteran students to socialize and study. Grab a free coffee and play a few games on the Nintendo Switch to relax between classes.
