Student Support Services is a federally-funded (U.S. Department of Education) program (part of the TRIO family of programs) that supports low-income, first-generation, and students registered with Accessibility Resources to achieve their higher education dreams. Our programs:
- Provide opportunities for academic development
- Assist students with basic college requirements
- Motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education
Our Goal
To increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.

Who can participate?
Any American citizen or permanent resident student is eligible to participate if enrolled or accepted for enrollment at the University of Cincinnati and meets at least ONE of the following conditions:
- First-generation college students (neither parent has completed a bachelor’s degree program)
- Family taxable income does not exceed federal level determined by the U.S. Department of Education
- Student is accessing services from Accessibility Resources

Grant Aid Application
Grant Aid is one-time financial aid assistance available to eligible SSS participants. Award amounts are based on need and determined by fund availability. Learn more about eligibility and the application process.
