Kentucky Residency for Tuition Purposes

Depending upon your residential county in Kentucky—and the program in which you are enrolled—there are four rates available to Kentucky residents:


Kentucky Metropolitan Rate

University of Cincinnati students currently living in all counties within Kentucky (program exceptions noted below) are able to attend UC at an established metropolitan tuition rate. The Kentucky Metropolitan Rate is the Ohio In-State Tuition Rate plus the surcharge.

Ineligible Programs

  • Genetic Counseling program in the College of Medicine

Surcharge

The Kentucky Metropolitan Rate is the Ohio In-State Tuition Rate plus the surcharge listed below.

Please note: Once approved, the Kentucky Metropolitan Rate is reflected as a Non-Resident Surcharge on the student's term bill.


Kentucky Reciprocity for Selected Counties

University of Cincinnati students currently living in the eight Kentucky counties listed below—or students enrolling at UC within 12 months of graduating from a high school located in an eligible county—and in an eligible program are qualified for the Ohio Resident Tuition Rate.

Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, and Pendleton

Eligible UC Colleges and Programs

  • All degree programs in UC Clermont College
  • All degree programs in UC Blue Ash College
  • Applied Administration–Online program in the University of Cincinnati
  • Honors Plus program in the Lindner College of Business
  • Select baccalaureate programs in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning:
    • Architecture
    • Horticulture
    • Interior Design
    • Urban Planning
    • Fashion Design
    • Industrial Design
  • All undergraduate programs in the College of Engineering and Applied Science except Architectural Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering Technology, Fire Science, and Mechanical Engineering Technology

Kentucky Reciprocity for Maysville Community College Students from Select Counties Who Are Enrolled In UC Clermont College Degree Programs

A reciprocity agreement also exists between the State of Kentucky's Maysville Community College and University of Cincinnati Clermont College. Under this agreement, residents of the following Kentucky counties are eligible to enroll at University of Cincinnati Clermont College for UC Clermont College programs Ohio Resident Tuition Rates.

Important Information

Students who move to Ohio are no longer eligible for Kentucky Reciprocity or Metropolitan Rates and will have to meet the residency guidelines established by State of Ohio Law and Ohio Department of Education.
