- The desired course(s) is not available at CS during the term the student wishes to enroll
- The desired course(s) is required for the student’s program
- They are enrolled in equal or more hours at CS (home institution) than at UC (host institution)
- They meet all prerequisites of the course at UC, meet UC’s deadlines, and are accepted by UC for enrollment into courses
2. Request Approval From Your Home Institution
Your school will assist you in determining how credits will transfer to them and completing any necessary paperwork.
3. Become a Visiting Student
If this is your first time attending UC—or if you haven't attended UC in over a year as a visiting student—you will need to complete a form to become a visiting student.
4. Send Your Completed Cross Registration Form to UC
Email your cross registration form to registrar@uc.edu. The Registrar's Office will begin accepting SOCHE registrations on the following dates for the following terms until the first day of the class in which you wish to register.
Fall Semester 2025: Monday, April 14, 2025
Spring Semester 2026: Monday, November 24, 2025
5. Check Your Email for Approval
Within three business days, you will receive email confirmation stating whether or not your cross registration has been approved or if you have any outstanding actions.
6. Register for Your Classes in Catalyst
- In order to register, you will need to complete all items in the "To Do List" on My Dashboard in Catalyst. Note: You will not need to complete the Health Insurance item.
- If you are having trouble navigating Catalyst, you will want to visit the Registration How to Guide for further instructions.
- For registration errors (such as not meeting the prerequisites) the Class Permissions Procedures page details what to do to gain permission to register.
- Please note: The Registrar's Office cannot approve prerequisites.
Visiting Student Additional Responsibilities
Visiting Consortium students are not responsible for the standard tuition cost of the class(es). However, students are responsible for course-related fees at the host institution (ex: lab fees, books, etc.)
Students must inform both schools if they withdraw from consortium classes.
Transcripts for SOCHE Students
A transcript is automatically sent from UC to the home institution at the end of the term.
